Cheerleading

Day of competition

The cheerleading contest will be integrated into the event on the evening of Saturday, 31st July. The closing party, the "Big Party Zone", takes place on this day.

Teams

Teams consist of 5 to 20 persons. All teams (whether all female, all male or mixed) compete against one another in the contest. A compulsory and a free-style program must be presented.

Categories

Compulsory program

Pyramid / Stunt / Leap (for Explanations see below)

The duration of the choreography is three minutes plus or minus five seconds. The music will be specified by the organizers. The choreography must include at least one pyramid or one stunt and one leap.

Free-style program / Dance

In the free-style, the teams present a dance of their own choosing. The duration of the dance is four minutes plus or minus five seconds. There is a free choice of music. At least one pyramid or one stunt or one leap must be included.

Rules

The following will be assessed with a maximum of eight points:

  • Presentation as sport
    Leaps, stunts, pyramids, tempo, dynamism
  • Range of figures
    Degree of variety
  • Synchronization
  • Elements of dance
    Attractiveness of the choreography, degree of difficulty
  • Costumes
    The costumes should suit the subject and the music. Originality will be rewarded.
  • Choice of music (only for free-style)
    The jury will evaluate how well the teams have put their music together. In addition the degree of difficulty of the music will be considered.
  • Representation of the music
    The jury will take note of how the cheerleaders interpret the timing and the rhythm of the music and how they portray the individual pieces of music.
  • Visual impression
    The jury will evaluate the movement of the group in terms of impression (visual, dynamic), consistency and continuity. How does the group manage changes of tempo, of the music, of the scenes, how are the transitions choreographed?

Order of starting

The order in which the teams start will be decided by draw before the start of the competition.

Clothing

There is again a free choice as to clothing. The wearing of a top is compulsory. Pompoms are obligatory. No participation in the competition is allowed without sneakers / gym shoes. No jewelry may be warn because of the danger of injury!

Sound media

Cassettes and CDs are allowed as sound media. For DAT please ask in advance.

Special needs

We regret that those who are blind or without hearing may not take part in the cheerleading competition.

Explanations

Stunt

At least two persons. One participant climbs on to the shoulders of the other. One participant with the help of other participants the floor. Above shoulder height at the least!

Leap

Both legs leave the ground, leaping upwards, forwards, backwards or sideways. Splits, sliding leaps, etc.

Pyramid

At least five persons. Combination of two or more stunts. The stunts must always be secured from the back to the front. This means that two persons are providing security while three others are building the pyramid.

Dance

A dance of ones own choosing. The dance should include at least one pyramid, one stunt and one leap. "Nearly" everything is allowed! Watch out for the safety of the participants!
