Tour description

By train and bus we get to the start of our walk: the Waitzinger-Alm/Winterstube in the Valepp. We first walk along the Pfanngraben. On a lonely way along a picturesque alp and some woods we follow the wild stream valley-upward. There we have the first opportunity to refresh ourselves in one of the many Gumpen (small basins in the stream), than we ascend in the more woody area towards Rotwandhaus. Here we could have the first magnificent view with coffee, cake and the right weather towards the central alps.

After another 30 minutes on a path without shadow we get to the peak. Here you will get a phantastic panorama. The Rotwand is a well-known and much visited mountain, so it will not be as lonesome here as in the beginning of our tour. At the descent we follow some varied paths through typically Bavarian mountain pastures towards Spitzingsee. Here or at Schliersee (which is on the bus journey back to Munich) there is possibility to swim and eat. Please bring swimming customs.
