Tour descriptionOur tour takes us to the beautiful countryside around Lake Tegern. The route takes us through forests, fields and impressive nature to the summit of the Baumgartenschneid (1.449 m). On clear days you have a wonderful view of around a dozen of the mountains close to Munich. After an hour or so train journey through beautiful Upper Bavaria, we arrive at Lake Tegern. From the station, we follow hiking route T3/T4 to Riederstein (1.207 m), climbing a short way to the small Riederstein church on the rocky ridge. From there after a short stretch through the forest, we climb along the bare ridge, Wiesenkamm to the summit, Baumgartenschneid. We enjoy a view of the following peaks from here: Benediktenwand (1.801 m), Fockenstein (1.564 m), Wallberg (1.722 m), Breitenstein (1.622 m) and Wendelstein (1.838 m). The descent takes us to the Baumgartenalm (1.368 m) und along the path, the Prinzenweg in the picturesque valley, Alpbachtal. At the end of this valley and our tour, we will make a stop at the Biergarten belonging to the manor house. We return to Munich with the train from the nearby station. |
