Nymphenburg
Nymphenburg with its huge park is the biggest green space of Munich besides the English Garden and the Isar: the "garden of the Nymphs" is still the Wittelsbach summer residence, built from the 17th century on, located in the flat countryside and joined by slow flowing rivers and canals to other castles and former hunting grounds of the Bavarian princes. Today Nymphenburg is an area of villas and upper class living quarters, the park is one of the most beautiful resorts: an English park with baroque pavillons (even a bathhouse) and one of the best botanical gardens in Germany nearby.
To be started by Nymphenburg Castle/ Entrance (stairs)
How to get there: tram 17; station "Schloss Nymphenburg" (by "Sendlingertor", from central rail station approx. 20 min.)
