Neuschwanstein
Neuschwanstein, the Dream King's Ludwig II dream castle, was the place of the king's highest aspirations to bring his imaginary world to. It was also the place of his financial ruin (the costs went up to 6 million Marks) and his final arrest and deposition in 1886. The castle was still under construction at the king's death, many rooms have never been finished. Ludwig has created by Neuschwanstein one of the icons of gay culture.
