Text of lust: to bring the body into the game6th literature award of the gay bookshops 2004
24th July 2004, 19:30 The team of gay bookshops in Germany will award the literature price for the 6th time in 2004, that is trying to get attention for the gay aspects of life outside of the gay community. Because of the 9th EuroGames the organizing bookshops (Max & Milian, München; Erlkönig, Stuttgart; Männerschwarm, Hamburg and Eisenherz, Berlin) are putting the prize under a motto for the first time. With "To bring the body into the game" it takes reference to the EuroGames, will animate the authors without limiting them to the area of sports. It should be "Texts of lust" that incorporate frustration as well. Out of more then 100 transmittances (29 from women!) an independent Jury consisting of Philipp Tingler (Author, Zurich), Timothy Sonderhüsken (Editor, Munich) and Matthias Kuhn (cultural editor go-München) will choose three texts. The candidates will perform their texts on the evening of the award ceremony, the jurors will justify their choice and three of the organizing book-sellers will establish the final winner: "And the winner is ." The literary evening will be framed by singer/songwriter Rainer Bielfeldt from Berlin. Presentation: Christoph Süß from Munich – Musician, cabaret artist and preenter of the TV magazine "Quer" (Bayerischer Rundfunk).
