EGLSF and Gaysport.info Your first addresses in Europe for lesbian and gay sport
On behalf of more than 100 member groups the board of the EGLSF would like to welcome all participants and visitors to the 2004 EuroGames in Munich. At the same time we would like to extend a big thank you to the organisers, the volunteers and the sponsors of this unique event.
EuroGames 2004 is the ninth edition of the European Gay and Lesbian Championships which once started in The Hague (NL, 1992 and 1993) followed by Frankfurt and Berlin, Paris, Zurich, Hanover and Copenhagen. This year we are very happy and proud to welcome you in a former olympic city in a truly olympic environment. EuroGames Munich will be the largest European GLBT sports event ever. Still we, together with the host organisation, will guarantee you high quality games and a unique chance to make new friends from all over Europe.
The European Federation is the license holder of the EuroGames and a lively network of sport clubs. As a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) we are also actively fighting against discrimination within the European institutions like the Council of Europe and the European Union. We put discrimination of GLBT people on the agenda of European and national sport. One of our projects is to work as a core partner of FARE (Football Against Racism Europe). EuroGames is a very important tool to reach out to regular sport and the Munich organisation of course plays a key role in 2004.
For now EGLSF wishes you sportive, successful enjoyable and memorable EuroGames!
